2011 Kawasaki Z1000

To most younger riders, New York Steak is something you lay down twenty-five bucks for at a restaurant and pour A1 sauce over. To older riders, New York Steak will only ever mean one thing and one thing only: The original Kawasaki Z1. The Kawasaki engineers were so convinced that their paradigm shifting first transverse four would turn on the American public that their codename for the project was the nomenclature of that noble and fully Yankee cut of meat. And they were right. Americans, and almost all other nationalities, just ate that Z1 up!

Honda CBR250R First Impressions

For years now, the Kawasaki Ninja 250R has been the only sportbike-inspired street motorcycle aimed at entry-level riders. Despite the fact that the Ninja 250R has sold so well over the years, no other Japanese manufacturers have entered into the class with a bike that would compete with the Kawasaki - until now that is. Honda’s recent release of the 2011 CBR250R means that Kawasaki may now have some stiff competition in the lightweight division.

While the Honda may at first seem conventional at best, a quick look at its spec sheet proves otherwise. In fact, the Honda plays host to a number of innovative tech features that set it apart from the Kawasaki - despite being one cylinder down. Many of the features, including the fuel injection and optional ABS (more on that later), were incorporated into the lightweight machine’s design so that the bike was easier to ride and easier to work on – something all entry-level riders will appreciate.

Lubrication Ducati Desmosedici

Shell Advance and Ducati
Shell Advance Ultra 4’s tailored blend of lubricant plays a key role for Ducati in lubricating the engine’s rotating and oscillating parts and the constantly moving components of the gearbox.
Shell says that the oil has been optimized to deliver maximum performance and liberate new power, while maintaining its protection properties throughout each session on the track.
Of course, engine reliability is a key marker in the success of Ducati Corse.
The Shell technical partnership with Ducati began in 1999 and the pairing achieved immediate success and fame that same year when Ducati won the World Superbike Championship.
In 2003, the technical partnership was renewed and expanded to include MotoGP.  Just four years later, Ducati took the triple MotoGP World titles (riders’, manufacturers’ and team) and in January 2008, Shell and Ducati signed a new agreement through until the end of 2011.
